I am a Neuromuscular Therapist at heart with a desire to practice in a spa environment. My education focuses beyond general relaxation to pain relief, well-being & health. I believe the body & mind must be relaxed and comfortable to receive the optimal effects of these therapies - the spa environment.

Swedish Massage provides general relaxation and stress relief. Think “spa”.

Sports Massage blends techniques from many modalities to work with a particular athlete or anyone with repetitive stress issues or injuries. The goal is to increase performance while preventing injuries. That sounds fabulous, but you’re not an athlete? Me either. Sports massage techniques are great to stimulate, energize and clear the head. Think “relaxation, without the elephant tranquilizer”.

Neuromuscular Therapy is a holistic approach towards healing. The emphasis is on stimulating the body to heal itself. When the relationship between the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system is not in a state of balance, chronic pain or dysfunction can occur. Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) aims to restore balance between the two systems by addressing trigger points, nerve compression/entrapment, postural distortions, nutrition, ischemia and stress. Plain English please! ... Chronic pain, sciatica, TMJ, migraines, carpal tunnel, fibromyalgia. Think “pain relief”.

Reflexology concentrates on reflex areas in the feet (or hands or ears) which reflect particular organs/systems of the body. Reflexology is a relaxing way of stimulating the body's self-healing properties. It’s a great introduction to massage. Think “big results from a concentrated area”.

Pregnancy Massage addresses the profound physiologic, functional, emotional, and lifestyle changes occur during pregnancy and labor, often creating high stress levels. Too much stress can negatively affect maternal and infant health. Massage can reduce anxiety and physical discomfort before and after the birth of your child. And let’s not forget about the new Dad. Think “Ahhhh...”.

Getting a massage can do you a world of good. And getting massage frequently can do even more. This is the beauty of bodywork. Taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you’ll be and how youthful you’ll remain with each passing year. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health. And remember: just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn’t mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan, and work with your practitioner to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs.
